Artist Statement

For me, there’s nothing like interesting sculpture…except maybe interesting sculpture that’s affordable. I like to create something original, my own vision, which is why modern art appeals so much to me. My goal is to make sculpture that catches a person’s interest and attention. I work to create something that makes the viewer think hard enough to draw them further into the piece, if only for a short while. To me, whether a viewer “likes” or “dislikes” my work is irrelevant, as long as it evokes a reaction. To my way of thinking, the only really negative critique is no critique.

I admire many artists but some of my favorites include but are not limited to Henry Moore, David Smith, Claes Oldenberg, Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, Alexander Calder, Bansky, Judy Chicago, and Lee Krasner.
